…or “The Taps’ as we are nicknamed locally.
We make everything from scratch in our kitchen from bread & puddings to sauces & pickles.
We have a kitchen garden where we grow our own herbs and vegetables. During game season our head chef can be found out on Yorkshire’s estates to ensure we cook with the freshest ingredients possible & know where our produce comes from.
We take pride in our home made, locally sourced menu and only ever use the best local suppliers including Lishman’s, Ramus & Bondgate.
We strive to cater for everyone at the Vaults. Vegetarians, coeliacs, dairy intolerant…we’ll always make sure you never leave hungry!
There are always treats behind the bar for your four legged, furry friends in case they want to sample what the Vaults has to offer!

The staff were friendly and nice, and they fitted us in at short notice for a Sunday dinner. The food was sweet, I know how can a Sunday dinner be sweet?? - but it really was
Christmas lunch was extremely disappointing £20 for one small piece of turkey, 3 very small more raw than cooked sprouts. 1 small piece of parsnip, small spoon of red cabbage, a very small stuffing ball, 2 roast potatoes and a yorkshire pudding. Looked more like a child’s portion rather than for an adult. When we asked for more sprouts a bowl was brought to the table of 8 with six sprouts it was an actual joke if i wasn’t with a group i would definitely not have paid more than £12.
Delicious fabulous Sunday Roast. Stepping in from the freeze we received a warm welcome from the staff and roaring fire from the wood burning stove. Lovely buzzing atmosphere - best Sunday roast in town. Cannot recommend it more highly.
Mid afternoon Sunday lunch. Quite an unassuming place from the outside as it's quite cosy inside. Food was good although I thought the kids main was a little small. Perfectly fine for our four year old but I think any older and you'd expect a little more. White Russian was delicious!
Good service and food. Personally I thought my starter was a little under seasoned, but only a little. The kids portion was fine for our 4 year old but it may not suffice for older kids. The only thing I'd like to see is a local lager as they have local ales. The white Russian chocolate orange was awesome!
