We booked in for the Christmas menu for Xmas Eve. Me and my partner are both vegan and it was great to see they had a soup for starter vegan nut roast for main and a pineapple sorbet for pudding. Unfortunately the services from the older woman wasn't great. She seemed a little grumpy and rude the whole time. But the food was amazing, very Big portions, and very tasty, apart from the vegan pineapple desert, just hot pineapple with sobay. We would definitely come back.
Lovely place to eat, great food good prices. The staff were lovely. We had scampi and chips, chicken with season vegetables would definitely recommend. Cheese board bigger than expected with a good selection 👌 Was great to see gluten free options on the menu too.
The typical pub restaurant. Very nice interior, the usual light shabbyness which adds a level of cozyness. Nice people around, good beer and cider. The food was great. Especially the starter with grilled mushrooms and cheese was excellent. And don't forget to look at the picture which shows all pupils of a 1960 school.
We had fabulous four dishes that were well appointed and delicious. The salad came straight from the on-premise garden and it was fantastic. Service was professional and friendly. The atmosphere was welcoming and upbeat. I highly recommend and am looking forward to returning for more wonderful food at the Ilchester Arms!
What a find... the perfect country pub with an authentic country pub ambience serving the most delicious locally sourced food. Our table of nine were made to feel very welcome by the friendly staff. Most of the main courses were offered as small or large portions... I ordered a large burger and it was more than enough! We all left very full and very happy! This is a little gem that is well worth a visit.
