A classic pub in a good location. There is a good selection of drinks to choose from at a good price. There is plenty of indoor seating and big screens showing live sports.

I really like this pub and it’s food. Recently, however, every time we’ve popped in, we’re told the kitchen is closed, no matter what time we’re going in. On two instances, about 45 mins later, somebody else has managed to order food and it’s coming to their table. There seems to be very unpredictable and unadvertised kitchen times and/or a lack of communication between the kitchen and bar staff… staff on the bar usually say they’re not sure if the kitchen is open or not themselves. The drinks and service are obviously great, and student deals take the nasty edge of some off the prices - just a shame their good food is so inaccessible, it would probably help sales also to make these kitchen times as clear as possible to everybody.

As a casual none student drinking this place is expensive, without student deals. They prefer students and ignore local trade. It’s a bit of a dive now.

One of the most MAGICAL places I have been to in my entire life. The building has lovely chairs and carpets... I felt like a little rat in an experiment cage spoilt for choice. When i am sad this is a great place to raise my spirits.
