About us

Here at The Hurley Flyer we pride ourselves in being a welcoming, friendly, community pub where there’s always something going on. We have a comfortable lounge area to relax with family and friends or head to our bar to unwind with a drink. Why not challenge your mates to a game of darts or pool, or stop by to watch the big match on our multiple big screens; we’ll be showing all the best sport from both Sky and BT.

Our friendly staff are more than happy to get you a drink whilst you decide whether you’re feeling peckish or not. And if you are, food is served every day from lunchtime until late. Pick from a whopper of a menu that features pub classics, pizzas, burgers and steaks.

Whether it’s a laid-back lunch, tea with the kids after school, or cocktails with friends later on, you’ll always have a good time with us.

The food was lovely, and the atmosphere was really nice! We spoke mostly to David, who was really nice and attentive, and took the time to make sure everything was great with our food, despite not having many staff on. Everyone was smiling and seemed happy to be here, which is always nice to see. 11/10 would definitely come again!

Great place for food! Go very often never had a bad meal! Separate area for dogs to sit in as well, loves his ‘chow chow’ meal! Special mention to Sophie who looked after us for the majority of the visit! Great customer service and smiling! Also to Connor, Joe, Liv, Dave and the chefs wayne and Michael. See you again soon :)

Just basic pub grub. Nothing major wrong with it but nothing to make you want to rush back and dine here again. The pub looked clean and tidy. Wasn’t that busy when we went on a Thursday afternoon so plenty of options on where to sit. Ordered food at the bar. One mixed grill and one fish and chips. Food arrived a fraction over 15 minutes from ordering it. Asked for a soft egg and my steak medium rare. Both cooked that way. Steak came in two pieces. First smaller piece was fatty and very chewy. The second, larger piece was much nicer. Gammon was very salty. Chicken nice and tender. Sausages a bit disappointing. Chips good and hot but by time I got around to the peas and mushrooms they had gone cold. My brothers fish looked over cooked to me and dry. It had started to curl at the ends which suggest it had been kept warm under a heat lamp. But my brother said it was fine and didn’t taste over dry. Staff did ask if everything was ok. Well yes it was. It was just that, ok. Nothing that would make us rush back to eat there again. And if I was to try the food here again I would order something other than the mixed grill.

The Hurley Flyer is a proper sports bar/pub with top quality and tasty food to boot. There are a large number of TVs throughout the venue, at least 9 inside and one large TV in the outside garden area. Everything is well-organised, clean and as you would expect in a sports pub with an area within the pub that can be described as the 'sports area', complete with a pool table and large wall-mounted TV. The outside seating area is also furnished with a large TV and is ideal for enjoying the sunny weather and televised sport at the same time. I visited recently to enjoy a nice afternoon meal with a friend and it just so happened to be at the same time as the Manchester City vs Manchester United FA Cup match. The atmosphere in the pub was calm and friendly with the staff members making us feel instantly welcome as we ordered drinks and found a table to sit down. Ordering of food was fairly straightforward via the bar and it arrived in less than 15 minutes. My friend ordered the mixed grill whilst I opted for the veggie burger with fries. Both servings were appetising, ample in size and served with a smile by our waitress who made sure to check up on us a little later to make sure that all was as desired. Excellent customer service.
