A traditional mid-18th century former coaching inn
Here you will find "an outstanding place to visit, whether for a refreshment stop, snack, leisurely meal, overnight stay or longer stay" as a base to explore the exceptional Dorset countryside and coastline.
Dean, Emma and the team are passionate about good food and local produce, and the ingredients for the homecooked menu are locally sourced where possible. Whether you are visiting for lunch or dinner, or staying with us overnight or for a longer break, from our friendly welcome, real ales and traditional ciders, and our tempting menu through to tastefully appointed bedrooms and friendly breakfast service, we are certain you will be delighted with your visit.
Here at Hunter's Moon we're known for our real ales, premium lagers and traditional ciders. We're proud to feature in the Good Beer Guide and The Good Pub Guide every year since we moved to the inn in 2007.
As well as our beers we have a great wine list to choose from by the glass or by the bottle, plus a good selection of spirits and some lovely malt whiskies.

Great meal food was lovely and very reasonable prices. Atmosphere was good and staff friendly and helpful. Would recommend.
Just had lunch with the wife here. Amazing food. Good cider. Great service and price. Will be back soon.
We stayed at a cabin which was a short walk through the woods. We had booked a table as we wanted food and to watch the rugby. Dean and his staff are amazing, really friendly and very attentive. The food was amazing and beer great, shame Dean couldn't do anything about the rugby result! We will definitely be back!! Thanks again to The Hunters Moon.
We visited The Hunters Moon pub in Middlemarsh, Dorset twice during our holiday, and it was conveniently just 5 minutes away from our accommodation. The staff at this charming establishment were exceptionally friendly and made us feel right at home. The pub boasts a delightful menu that catered to various tastes, and the atmosphere was simply lovely. It had that quintessential British pub ambience that made our dining experience truly enjoyable. I wholeheartedly recommend The Hunters Moon to anyone visiting the area. It's a perfect spot to savor good food and enjoy the warmth of the local hospitality.
Visited for lunch and we cannot fault The Hunters Moon. This was our second lunch and it was just as good as the first. The lady taking our orders was lovely, and funny!, and the gentleman behind the bar friendly and welcoming. A comprehensive menu, offering traditional and unusual food, and our choices were excellent. We particularly like the fact that you can choose a small helping of most of the main courses (must remember that next time....) - portions seem to be getting bigger these days.
