Absolutely gorgeous place...the Hudson Bar is stunning, we had food in the restaurant and it was gorgeous. Cocktails fantastic and will 100% be going back.
Food was really tasty and plentiful, the onion rings with dip was to die for. Really clean, The waitress’s were faultless and really friendly nothing was any trouble. Only criticism would be if they could have warmed the bowls/plates prior to serving to keep food warm longer and including a spoon in their cutlery for twisting spaghetti. Would I come back ? YES for sure.
We where so looking forward to our evening at the Hudson, Beautiful interior awaited us ,very plush We took our seats , offered drinks , a few of us ordered cocktails, the glass contained mostly Ice and very little else and for £9 was awful 😞 Orders for food taken, starters came , nothing exciting if I'm honest, Main courses may be better ,,, nope , we waited 40 minutes, a lot of messing about in the open plan kitchen, once food came 2 of our party had to send it back , Steaks where not cooked right , chips had been cooked until they had just give them selves up 😕 So for a 5.30 booking for tea we didn't leave till 7pm
This was a lovely bar to visit, set in a glorious ancient building near Newcastle train station! The design has brilliant vibes with its brightness, counter is well-presented and the staff were chill. I enjoyed a pint of Heineken, sitting comfortably in the outside area with fabulous views!
Wasn't impressed with the food. Pricey for what you got. Bar staff unfriendly. Restaurant staff friendlier. Nice clean toilets with accessible toilet and accessible entrance. Deco throughout was really nice. They do lovely cherry bomb cocktail that was really worth it, although it was nicer and stronger when I had 2nd one with meal. They were 2 for £12. The Hudson is close to Central station metro and short walk from monument, with a bus service running into town. I had Shashuka which want anything special for the price and my friend had meatball flatbread, which they might as well have said pizza, got side of chips(you pay extra for) with parmesan cheese and truffle, which weren't cheap, they would have been better if cheese was melted on top. Would i return not to eat but probably for another couple of cherry bomb cocktails 😋
