The Hoste is comprised of a collection of unique and charming properties, all situated within Burnham Market. Our original boutique hotel, The Hoste, is located in an historic building dating back to the 17th century and has thirty-four individually styled bedrooms, including Room 5 where Admiral Lord Nelson once stayed. A short walk across the village green lies the Georgian splendour of Vine House with its eight luxurious suites and pretty wisteria-clad walled garden. Those in search of something a little quirky will love Railway House, a former train station that is now home to seven stylish rooms, or Railway Carriage, a character filled hideaway that is perfect for couples, whilst our three Luxury Holiday Cottages offer a home-from-home experience and are perfect for families or larger groups. We also offer several dog friendly rooms.
Our menus are updated regularly to incorporate fresh, seasonal, local ingredients throughout, whilst our famous bar features an extensive wine and cocktail list in a cosy, traditional panelled setting, steeped in history. And for those looking to truly relax and unwind, our Beauty Spa offers a range of pampering treatments, including our signature massage, as well a luxurious hot tub which is set al fresco in the privacy of the Spa garden.

Date day / night away as a surprise before new year, absolutely stunning village & the hoste pub didn’t disappoint neither did the rooms (even got and upgraded) however the service when we sat down for evening meal was one of the worst we’ve ever had which is a total shame because the food was very good. Our table wasn’t cleared,neither was our glasses or meal check back and had to go and get more drinks ourselves from the bar (the bar staff were incredibly busy yet incredibly professional and worth there weight in gold) Shame the restaurant staff including the management running it as they were over run and clearly couldn’t keep up with demand. I gave one star as we felt a real let down to an incredible nice place to visit & stay.. Will we go back ?????? Definitely yet we will wait until spring or summer and see if they were having an off day??
My wife and I recently stayed for 3 nights in room 5. The room overlooks the high street. It is spacious and has its own sitting area. Overall it’s fine but the lighting is subdued and in our opinion requires improvement. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was of a good standard. The service in the dining room was on occasions a little on the slow side.

Thank you to The Hoste for an incredible autumn wedding weekend. From our very first contact with the Events Planner, Jade, we felt well looked after and well-prepared for our big day. As soon as we arrived at the venue to set up the day before the wedding, we were met with extremely helpful, courteous and considerate staff who made us feel welcome. As anyone has ever planned a wedding would understand, there are a 101 thing which could go wrong on the day. However Jade and her team went above and beyond to ensure that our day went smoothly and that we and our guests had the best possible time. We can honestly say that our wedding was everything we could have hoped for. We have had so many wonderful comments from our guests telling us it was one of the best weddings they had been to. Thank you for helping to make our wedding day a spectacular and enjoyable experience that we will remember for the rest of our lives. We cannot recommend this venue highly enough for those who want to make their big day a special affair to remember.
Just spent two nights at the Hoste with my grown up children. We ate 2 dinners, one bar lunch, two breakfasts and used the beauty salon. Everything was excellent. Lovely staff (especially in the restaurant), decent food and wine. My wife was recovering from an operation and this helped her recovery. Would certainly recommend and would go back. One criticism. Please light up the sign outside. it was difficult to see on a stormy dark night! Thanks to you all.
