We are a proudly independent, spacious and dog-friendly pub serving the best in craft beers, ales, fine wines and homemade, locally sourced food – either inside or outside in our large secluded garden.
We are conveniently located near the Bristol city centre in Clifton, close to the Harbourside. Whether you are after quick pint on the trot, a long Sunday lunch or an evening out with friends, we can cater for your every need.
The Hope & Anchor is run in partnership with its sister pub, the gorgeous Volunteer Tavern in St. Jude’s near Cabot Circus by Peter Gibbs and his team. Between the two pubs, a host of events are regularly run, including beer festivals, barbecues (weather permitting), food theatres (which have to be experienced to be believed!) pub quizzes and private parties and events – with food made to order.
Parties can be booked in advance and food bookings are always advised for Sunday lunch to avoid disappointment!
In partnership with Volta Catering and Volta Distribution, the team also runs field and venue events including weddings, festivals and outdoor parties.
