The pub was built in 1871, and has a bright and airy front bar, a large lounge at the rear with it's own smaller bar (which is available for hire) and also an outside smoking area to the rear.
Our aim is to provide a good selection of fine ales and a comfortable and relaxed environment in which to enjoy them. Our permanent beers will be from Bass, Oakham and Mallinsons with five other guest ales from a variety of brewers, such as, Magic Rock, Hand Drawn Monkey, Hopcraft, Tiny Rebel, Red Willow, Fyne Ales and Hawkshead to mention but a few. We also have good wine and spirits to choose from and a selection of single malt whiskies.
As a free house our intention is to source the finest beer from micro breweries from all over the country, to enable our customers to enjoy a good beer in a comfortable and friendly environment.

Great real ale pub in Newcastle at least 8 real ales on,probably more,only popped in for one and stayed the night. really friendly staff and clientele. will definitely go back if ever in Newcastle
Wide variety of enjoyable beers. Priced reasonably. Great service. Lovely atmosphere.
Didn't have food, but this place is so homely and friendly and the different ales and beers that they serve were fabulous, will definitely come here again.
If you like real ale/craft beer this is a venue for you. Some fabulous ales on offer that change on a regular basis. A lot to choose from to suit every beer palate. One of my favourite pubs. Enjoy.
