The Hop Farm is Kent's iconic and historic landmark. Featuring the world's largest collection of Victorian oast houses, it was a major supplier of hops to London breweries in the 19th and 20th centuries. Families across the South East and beyond used to spend the summer holidays working in the rolling countryside around the Hop Farm, harvesting hops and preparing them to be transported.
The hop pockets were delivered to the local train station using the strength of the famous Shire horses. Visit The Hop Farm and you can learn more about its history and even meet the Shire horses in the stables.
Went for the Christmas show, fair, excellent, well laid out lots of different types of stalls and goods, spent a fortune but thoroughly enjoyed ourselves
Camping for the weekend, beautiful area for walking, excellent pub in a short walk called the Man of Kent, lovely food and brilliant and attentive people who work there.
Friendly staff , huge site but - toilets and showers need more regular cleaning at peak times as , there were times when they we horrid , as we are fairly new to camping we have decided after visiting the hop farm we wouldn’t want to be allocated a pitch again - we like to choose our pitch although I understand this is more difficult if you need power, it’s in easy reach of Leeds castle and Bewl castle etc , there a huge set of fields with trees around the perimeter and a nice river to walk along - just left us ‘Luke warm’
Great place for camping lots to do for the kids. There is a river that you can swim track a small boat and ropes to jump in. The showers and toilets are clean and tidy but very limited and does get busy
After having a lovely long weekend camping, the reception staff are so very nice and helpful. The site was perfect but unfortunately some idiotic persons ruined it by trashing the toilet and shower facilities on the Sunday evening! but apart from that a lovely weekend and we will be back. Thank you
