We are proud of the food we make, uncomplicated dishes that reflect our passion for great tastes and flavours from all over the world. Our menu is kept deliberately small to allow the attention to detail that is the keystone of our cooking.
Fantastic food, wonderful ambience, great service. Possibly the best venison I've ever had, and a really generous portion. The house red was very good and went perfectly with the meal. Would have liked to see something a bit more interesting on the desserts list but still a wonderful evening in a great venue.
First time visiting The Holt with family this week and it did not disappoint! Hidden away at the bottom of town, this is a hidden gem that looks small on the outside but is actually a lovely and spacious place for a meal. The bar downstairs has a good range of beer, cider, wine and other drinks with a few spots to sit down and enjoy a drink with friends, with lots of interesting personality and decor. Upstairs the restaurant is a rustic yet stylish spot with lovely artwork on the walls and a great selection of food on offer (a small selection for vegans but delicious!). Food isn't necessarily the cheapest but as a small, family run business I'd rather pay a little more for the quality. The staff were all welcoming and smiling, despite the business just days before Christmas. A really wonderful experience and I can't wait to come back!
What an amazing place! We were met with a really friendly and warm welcome, were seated in their magical restaurant where we enjoyed a wonderfully delicious meal. After dinner we thoroughly enjoyed the evening listening to the band and dancing the night away. Joe was very attentive and professional on what was a very busy evening for him and his team, well done all of you and we will be returning soon. Merry Christmas & happy New Year. Simon
As we walked in we were greeted by a very friendly lady at the bar who got us drinks as we were escorted to our table. The food, service and atmosphere were all excellent and it was a very enjoyable evening. All members of staff were friendly and helpful and ensured we had the best experience possible. Definitely worth a visit.
The Holt is my favourite local restaurant. I feel very lucky to live so close, and be able to dine here often, as it's something quite special. The food, staff attentiveness and ambience are all 10/10. I would highly recommend visiting if you like good food
