We are open Monday - Wednesday 5pm till 10pm, Thursday and Fridays from 3pm and 10am weekends. Currently our kitchen opens 5pm Wednesday to Friday and 10am weekends. The Hollies Inn is an independent family run business with the building dating back to 1648. We are well situated in a small village on the Wiltshire/Somerset border for those wishing to visit many attractions including Longleat, Cley Hill, Bath, the White Horses and Stonehenge not to mention Salisbury Plain and our beautiful local countryside walks available just on our doorstep.

A lovely place to go for some food and/or drinks. VERY reasonably priced and the food has been great on the couple of occasions we have been to eat there in the last year or so. One was a group booking for 20 (mix of adults and kids) and there were no mistakes with our food as we've had with many places before, and the service was good too. No complaints. We also went for their steak night and were dubious about how good it would be for price, but it exceeded all expectations. The car park isn't the best and gets full rather quickly, so if you're in walking distance it's best to leave the extra time to walk there at busy times. It's a great place to go and I recommend it for sure.
The food was fantastic, everything else was not. The rugby was on TV and there was nowhere to escape the noise, the table we were given was pretty close to the TV. The room we had was apparently for 3 people, I had requested for 2, the double bed had been moved so it overhung the room door and there was no shelf/cabinet on that side, it would have been a much better room if it had the one double bed for which it was intended. The TV didn't work, with the remote or the buttons on top, it was locked on the DVD player but even that didn't work. The room was a bit cold when we arrived and we turned the radiator on, the problem was it wouldn't turn off again so we had it on all night. When we woke up in the morning the main light in the room no longer worked. The room was fairly cheap, unfortunately we found out why once it was too late.
Today I came in for a roast with a friend after hearing all about how good a roast is at the Hollies. We walked in a went to the bar to notify we had a table booked at 1pm, we were then sat at our table (without a menu) As a new person to the Hollies I was unsure of how we went about ordering our food and drinks. After 15 minutes of waiting I decided to go up to the bar and ask how we went about ordering food and drinks, The member of staff said “Well do you know what you want” I said no sorry as we haven’t yet had a menu. They then went a got some menus, and put them on the bar. We ordered our x2 Roast beef and drinks at the bar. The food came out shortly after, I was disappointed to find that the vegetables were hard and the Stuffing was dry. No table check was done to notify the staff of how our food was. I would understand if it was Super busy and the staff were rushed off their feet but this wasn’t the case. I hope this feedback can be used as good constructive criticism of how to improve.
The Rooms at the Hollies Inn are really nice and have the ambience of a nice country cottage... very homely. The owner went to great lengths to try and get my Tesla charged and although the charging was aborted after about 4.8 kWh, for reasons unknown; he is really a top bloke. 👌🏼. I would highly recommend this pub for drinks 🍸, food 😋 and an overnight stay.
Sunday lunch is great value. Not a huge Yorkshire pudding fan, but the large pudding filled with meat, roast potatoes and gravy was tasty. Vegetables are served separately
