About us

Welcome to Hogarth’s Newport. We are a grand Victorian Gin Palace and you can find us at

43 – 44 High Street, Newport. Situated between High Street and Cambrian Road, with wheelchair access from the latter.

Whether you join us during the day or at night you are sure to have a fantastic experience.

We have a wide range of Gins currently stocking over 120 different brands. All are perfectly served and garnished to enhance the flavours and botanicals of your choosing. Whilst we have large selection of gin available, it’s true to say our focus is on quality alongside uniqueness too.

We first opened our doors in June 2016 and what a gin-tastic time we’ve had in Newport since then. We fast became one of the most popular community pubs in the heart of Newport, catering for all ages.

We have a large and rather grand, if we so ourselves, open plan layout. Providing ample space for you and your friends. Our space is divided into 6 comfortable areas all with flat screen, wall mounted TV’s, delivering a range of sports to suit all tastes; Horse Racing, Football and Rugby being the most popular. Shown all times throughout the day.

We’re proud to be Welsh and inhabit a grand building in one of Wales’ best cities. As such, all our real ales and craft beers served are from local welsh brewers which combined with our landlords own range of cocktails makes our venue extremely unique.

As mentioned we are exceptionally proud to be a community pub and host many coach and minibus outings. We organise these trips frequently, and prove to be very popular with our locals. Such trips have included a weekend tour around nine sister Hogarth’s sites, as far afield as Hogarth’s South Shields!!

If you are looking for a fun, crazy and friendly pub with excellent service then Hogarth’s Newport is the gin palace for you.

We didn't eat, but had a couple of drinks. I haven't been here for a couple of year's. However, the new updated decor works well. And the place had a great hubbub and warm feeling. Would go here again 👌

It's an ideal public house if you enjoy a decent low priced drink, friendly environment & like watching live sporting events on the many TV's & a 22' drop down screen. I believe they have an over 18 yr old policy so there are no free range rug rats running around the place annoying the customers. Unfortunately, during the summer months, it can be quite warm & stuffy due to the lack of air conditioning. Overall it's worth a visit.
