The Hoddington Arms is a beautifully restored country pub serving great food, wine and real ales in the picturesque rural village of Upton Grey, Hampshire. Our highly attentive team offer a warm welcome and can recommend a variety of locally brewed ales and wines to suit all tastes. Our talented chefs serve fantastically prepared, fresh locally sourced produce, all in the idyllic Hampshire countryside, and we welcome all members of your family – including children and dogs. We also have an attractive, large garden just perfect for relaxing and dining, or you can warm up in front of our fires.
I absolutely loved this place. Such friendly staff and excellent food. I would definitely recommend and I will definitely be going back.
Had to eat and run but will be back several times. EDIT: added extra photo as we came back. Best pub lunch in the Basingstoke area. EDIT2: amazing Christmas lunch for 8 people after a big meal walk - recommend the Turkey and the sticky toffee pudding
Nice place, our first date place , but disappointed as we turned up at 9.04pm and they wouldn’t serve food as they stopped at 9pm,😳, nevertheless, it’s a great place, good atmosphere, unfortunately, not that accommodating? They let us have cheese 🧀 which was nice though not enough. Make your own decisions on this, however, I never turn anyone away from my business as I feel it’s unprofessional. Only my thoughts. And it was 9.04pm!!!
Had a great lunch here. A very nice English Village Pub with a good beer garden and nice character interior. Staff were friendly and efficient and the food was to a high standard. The 'Hodd Burger' was delicious!! Highly recommended.
A really warm welcome, excellent food, drink and service. And a lovely atmosphere. What more could you ask for?! We certainly left fully satisfied and feeling like it was worth every penny. This was our first time at 'The Hodd' but we're already planning our next visit! Highly recommended!

At the time of the 1841 census the building now known as “The Game Keepers” was just a house occupied by Joseph Phillips – a shoemaker, his wife Elizabeth, four children and his brother who was a farm labourer.
