Had the Sunday roast sirloin and upgraded. The meat was very grissley and tough but rest of meal was fine. As the price was cheap the meal could have been better.
My family like it, I find it mediocre whenever they insist on going there. On Christmas Day, the meal was nearly £60 per person, the food was very average. The order - placed a month earlier - was not observed. No notice had been taken of requests to leave items off. No notice had been taken of how we ordered our steaks. How can ribeye be one-size-fits-all when orders ranged from medium-rare to well done? They just came as they were and were handed out. One member of staff was incredibly irritated that I asked for what I'd ordered in terms of thing that were put on my plate regardless of my wishes. She snapped at another member of our party who politely requested a missing meal... "I've been dealing with this!" I won't be back by choice.
Yet again Sally and I were well looked after in this place. We ate between shows at the cinema and Hobson's Choice is very well situated for this (or for drinks/meals before or after even your show) Better yet, my meal was with a 20% discount thanks to my Defence Force Discount card (blue light discounts) It's always crowded here so it pays to book...
I recently dined at Hobson's Choice in Kettering, and I have mixed feelings about my experience. The food had potential, but unfortunately, it arrived cold, which was disappointing. Even more frustrating, I didn't receive any cutlery, which made the meal quite challenging to enjoy. On the plus side, the ambiance was pleasant, and the staff were friendly. With some improvements in food temperature and better attention to service details, this place could be a solid choice. 3 out of 5 stars.
Great food, great value, great service. Not walking distance from town but food is always solid there and the staff are always friendly. Excellent value for money too when you take advantage of the daily specials.
