Paul and Emma welcome you to The Hewlett Arms pub, bar and eatery – one of Cheltenham's hidden gems. Under our ownership since March 2014, we are still producing cook to order, local, seasonal food, served in comfort and style.
Located at the base of Harp Hill we always endeavour to use local suppliers, from our free range butchers meat to our constantly rotating real ale selection – no gimmicks just good food and drink. You can enjoy our lovely South facing garden during the Summer months! We are also in easy reach of Cheltenham Racecourse & the town centre.
We are open daily from 11.30am serving great food & drink 7 days a week.
Big garden outside with lots of tables. There are about 5 outdide cubicles, each one with a heater which give off a lot of heat so you don't freeze. Nice touch. Inside the pub is warm and welcoming, plenty of sit down areas, some high tables with bar stool. Food was reasonably priced and cooked to order, we had burgers and chips and it was all good. OK selection of drinks covering beers, largers and ciders. Dogs welcome
Very nice place to end a Cleeve Hill hike, great mulled cider. Shame they stop serving food after 3pm on Saturday.
We love this pub. Nice and cozy inside and the staff are welcoming. Garden is a gem with heated booths in the winter and a sun trap in the summer. Have had pizza at the pop up which was lovely. Love the idea of pop up food vans so looking forward to going back soon.
My sister and I ate here this evening. It was 'burger night', and so we both had a beefburger with various extras which came with a drink included. The food was excellent, unbelievably good, and served hot and within a short time of ordering. All the staff were friendly, attentive and nothing seemed too much trouble. Rosie, who served us at our table, was particularly impressive and helped make our evening so pleasant and relaxing. The desserts we had were also first class, and it was lovely to have unusual and bespoke choices, rather than the usual Brownies or sticky toffee pudding!! I would have no hesitation in recommending this place. The price of the food and drink was very reasonable compared with many places, but the quality and value for money far exceeded expectations.
Lovely beer garden, lovely decor. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Beers are well served and priced about right. Food is OK! Buffalo chicken burger had quite a low bun to meat ratio. It would have been nice if the chicken peice was a while breast considering the price (£13.50). Blue cheese sause wasn't bery cheesy. Was very tasty, though! Mac and cheese were disappointing, bland, and a little watery. Would benefit from a little seasoning and some breadcrumbs on top. Other members of the party ordered the fries and they were epic, this would be the choice if you are wondering. Patatas bravas were also disappointing. For a drink, excellent choice.
