Warmly furnished pub serving classic British fare & rotating beers, plus weekly live music. Ye Olde Fighting Cocks is recognised as the oldest pub in the UK by the Guinness Book of World Records.
The inn was first established in 793AD, according to its website, but the oldest license on record dates to the 17th century. It continues to win accolades for its great food and even better local ales.
The atmosphere was great it was full of families and people of all ages it was really buzzing. My friend and I had a lovely hot chocolate after a walk around St Alban's it was well worth it. The staff are lovely and very helpful. It is so good to see the pub lively and rejuvenated again following the pandemic. I love this Pub. Well worth a visit ๐
Fantastic pub, full of history and character. Very attentive and helpful staff, roast dinner one of the best Iโve ever had. Hereโs to the next millennium! ๐๐ป
Have a lovely family lunch on a Friday afternoon, not very busy and great food and drinks. Fish and chips and the sausages and mash went down a treat while listening to a great playlist. Great pub.
Gorgeous place. Always stop there for a pint or mulled wine if it's Christmas. It's homely. It's welcoming. Is just a perfect pub. Worth the 11 mile drive just to get there. But it means the missus gets sozzled and I have to stay sober. Don't wanna spend beer money on cab fare so its put up or shut up. But the place is wonderful so worth it
Such a superb pub ... Inside or outside. A wonderful location on the edge of the park, great selection of drinks on tap, and really lovely friendly staff. It doesn't get much better than this place. The perfect pub!
