About us

This Grade II listed pub has evolved from knocking together several cottages. One area houses the bar, while a second is more food based. The latter area has a mezzanine floor. There is large garden which leads down to the canal. The ex-canal stables now houses a coffee bar.

Fantastic roast beef dinner cooked perfectly. Wonderful staff polite and helpful thank you very much xxx marvellous atmosphere and public house. Highly recommended that you visit to appreciate it all xxx

What a amazing little pub living in this hectic city me and my friend decided to do a nature walk and we stumbled across the Jewel. Staff and the locals are very friendly we felt like we walked into our local pub.Food was amazing thanks to the chef for going out of her way for our dietary needs.

A nice proper traditional local village pub! We stayed close to hear overnight before heading to the Harry Potter tour and wanted some where for a bite to eat. This traditional pub is supremely characteristic inside with an amazing inside balcony floor and wood beams everywhere. The bar man remembered our drinks after just one drink, a rare pleasure in the UK these days! The food was all home cooked and fresh, no a single item was a premade/microwave job! And all at an extremely reasonable price. We had 2 starters and 2 mains for a total of £32.
