You will always find an enjoyable and entertaining pub atmosphere at the Lord Haig with friendly and talkative locals, top notch live entertainment at weekends and very reasonably priced drinks.
Friday evenings are fun packed with karaoke nights being held most weeks from 8:30 pm. Why not come along and impress your friends with your singing skills... and if holding a note doesn't come naturally, then why not have fun propping up the bar whilst listening to those who can (or can't) sing.
Saturday nights are host to a variety of live bands starting at 9:00 pm. The Lord Haig pub bands range from the regular favourites along with new up & coming bands each playing a range of genre that would suit any musical taste.
If you are a sports fan and don't want to miss the action, you can watch all the major sporting events with Sky Sports & BT Sport live on the large projection screen and on the three surround TV's.
The Lord Haig has a local darts team, hosting regular darts competitions.

Although the Lord Haig doesn't serve food, there are a number of good restaurants in Hertford within a short walking distance where you can have a meal and then finish the night off by coming along and having a drink or two. And if you just want to relax with a pint and enjoy a quiet drink, then the Lord Haig is just the pub to come to during the week or on a Sunday. Dog friendly. This is a good old fashioned pub. Very friendly. Food is very basic but quite remarkably tasty if you’ve just walked 10 miles. Emphatically I shall return!!
Did not eat here stopped off for a drink with my wife after eating out in Hertford beer was good, service was good. Although it's all one bar you can escape into little corners to chat.
"Half Life" band at The Lord Haig. Really friendly group of people and bar staff. Very good music. Great atmosphere and drinks. Well done.

A town centre pub with entertainment, live music, Sky Sports and McMullen's beers, also a small outside terrace. I have only visited at lunch times when it has been fairly quiet. Gets an extra star for maintaining originality in a town centre.
