Old charming pub, and no paper straws. Macaroni straws instead, surprisingly it works!
Cozy pub where you can feel the history of the place - just watch your head walking in otherwise the feeling becomes physical. Friendly barmen, nice local crowd, fantastic garden seating on a warm sunny day. The taps have standard beers on offer and the prices are well affordable.
Nice place since the new landlord took over. Lots of new faces popping in and good selection of ales and lagers. Keep it up... F
So, I heard some uncalled and unfair comments about a couple of visitors tonight. I expect to visit traditional pubs and enjoy the atmosphere but tonight I heard outright racism and uncomfortable conversation. It made me feel very unsettled and I could feel the apprehension of the two visitors that left swiftly! Is this something the George and dragon want to be associated with ? A
Friendly locals pub, a lot bigger than it looks from the road with extensive patio and garden at the back. There were 4 premium ales on tap when I went for lunch... Black Sheep, McMullens Bombadier, Greene King standard plus one other. The Black Sheep was in v good nick .. delicious. Hearty good value food from a short menu. Dog-friendly. Recommended!
