Friendly and welcoming pub between the Great Ouse and the relief channel. Converted from a farmhouse, the bar with long lounge for drinking and dining has faux beams and is crammed full of interesting artifacts. Adjacent moorings are available on Relief Channel. Separate pool room and active in local pool league. Menu has wide variety, generous proportions and reasonable price.

Great friendly pub with awesome home cooked food. The only downside is how far it is from where I live, but really worth the hours drive each way. It is a very special place, a bit of a rarity nowadays.
Very nice Restaurant the Sunday Roast was very tasty. The main menu is very good.

Booked a table for four to have Sunday roast ( after doing a buggy ride at watatunga wildlife reserve nearby ) we were seated and served quickly by Abi , the food was good quality and the quantity was just right , the decor is lovely and the restaurant clean and fresh , plenty of tables inside and out and fenced off from the river except the gateway to the jetty , would recommend this pub and will visit again when in the area 👍👍👍
We were looking for somewhere that was open on a Tuesday lunchtime for a new year dinner with family and plumped for the Heron as it was one of the few open on this day. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt as we did arrive as one of their first guests after reopening this year but the service, while friendly, was quite slow after ordering. They had a nice fire going which we appreciated coming in from the cold and wet weather outside. In better weather the outside beer garden would have been a good place to sit and eat. Food was ok, nothing particularly spectacular, but decent portions and tasty nonetheless. Price was a little high for what came, 3 courses were averaging around 30GBP per person. Quite a few locals were eating lunch as well so obviously it's a regular place for them. Overall, with not a whole lot of choice in the area, an ok, if pricey, meal in an ok place.
