Lovely pub, very welcoming, great atmosphere. It's definitely a locals pub, but don't be put off as everyone is very nice, friendly, and exceptionally helpful. Especially when staying local. We will definalty be back. Can't comment on the food we didn't eat. However, there Is definitely food, but it could be preordered, and anyone who ate definitely cleared their plates.
Deserves 10 stars for service and atmosphere! The Cross Keys is our favorite local because it truly is a local pub with the same characters propping up the bar whenever we are here. The landlords are skilled and truly and warmly friendly. Dogs are most welcome.
Comfortable no frills accommodation in a quaint old pub. Friendly staff, excellent beer, delicious cooked breakfast but no alternatives offered, though I am sure they would be available if requested.
Good beers and a cosy place. Very local, kind of felt like going back in time.
We visited this lovely pub, in early October (2022), while staying very nearby, for our 35th Anniversary. What a wonderful traditional local, no music, and there were log fires in bar areas. After chatting with Landlord and locals, one of the locals bought us a drink for our Anniversary - how wonderful! I am recently disabled but was treated 'normally', which made me feel very comfortable. Also, let's not forget, the beers (all local) were very tasty! We would definitely visit again if in the area. Proper local, and lovely place. Thank you. P.S. You should take cash, as we knew they didn't take cards when we were there...
