Ailsa and Chris became the proprietors of Henricks Bar & Bistro in October 2010 and with their wealth of hospitality experience have grown Henrick’s to the establishment that it is today.
Their vision is to bring a relaxed bar and bistro environment to the Bruntsfield & Tollcross area, providing a home from home atmosphere in comfortable surroundings, suitable for all ages, including children and even well behaved doggies, who get their own treats on arrival.
The Summer Menu have been introduced by our chefs, using fresh ingredients and locally sourced produce, to create contemporary dishes and classic pub favourites. All of our dishes are made to order and most importantly, fresh!
We also offer a superb 3 course brunch including half bottle of prosecco for £30 per person, which is the perfect excuse to catch up with friends and family. Brunch Menu
We are able to offer a wide range of premium spirits, excellent bottled and draught beers and a concise wine list, incorporating fine wines from across the world and in particular, some Australian wine that has even been made by Ailsa and enjoyed by Chris!
Henrick’s can cater for small groups or parties and with a full children’s licence, you can bring the whole family or just pop in for a coffee and a relaxing chat with your friends.
Located in close proximity to the King’s Theatre, we also offer a great value Pre Theatre Menu and a weekend brunch menu, so you can relax and recover from the Friday night excesses!
The whole team at Henrick’s look forward to welcoming you soon.

This is a nice restaurant. Some of the tables are a little squished in and it makes it uncomfortable when you’re basically on top of each other. The food is good, haggis balls are delicious. The portion size is also pretty decent. They do a good pre-theatre dinner menu but be careful on timings - last time we had to cancel our desserts as we ran out of time due to the wait. Book in advance to make sure you’re sorted.
I have to give 5 stars, we happened to stop in on our way back to the hotel, we needed something close and family friendly, we were just praying the food was decent, and we were blown away! Absolutely delicious food, incredible service. Do yourself a favour, choose this place for dinner, get the haggis bonbons, finish off with the rhubarb crumble, enjoy an evening here because we certainly did. We’re told it’s recently under new management, the new owners are doing a fantastic job.
Visiting from the states and thought everything was excellent. Clearly the kitchen knows what they’re doing along with the wait staff. Things very fairly priced given the quality. Closer to fine dining than “pub grub” as the name might imply.
The food is lovely and very reasonably priced but what I really appreciated was the extra effort the staff put in to assist a wheelchair user in our party. The restaurant was easy to access and the disabled toilet was easily accessible. Well done guys, we always enjoy our time there
Family of 8 went for meal for my birthday. Food and wine lovely. Good choice of drinks at bar. Choice of pre theatre or main menu. Staff really friendly and helpful. Owner Chris was talking to all the customers coming in. Very welcoming. Also has disabled access with no stairs to negotiate.
