Originally called Lyncroft House the now beautifully restored pub sits in its own grounds and large gardens, with ample off-road parking. Built in 1797, 13 years after the death of Lichfield's most famous son, Dr Samuel Johnson, the building retains its character thanks to a recent £1m restoration project.

Really enjoyed our Christmas meal here today, and as usual really enjoyed our visit. Food was amazing besides some undercooked parsnips but besides that the food was spot on. Always a great atmosphere. Staff were suoer friendly and helpful. Only issue we had was absolutely melting due to the heat inside but otherwise, loved it
Arrived with family for my birthday brunch today. As soon as you drive in it feels like a magical kingdom, the atmosphere, the music and the scenery were lovely. Quick and lovely service and the staff were very welcoming and patient. Food was demolished off of the plate. All in all a 10star place and restaurant will definitely be going back !
It's a friendly neighbourhood pub. It's attached to a hotel which is a blessing and a curse. There was a lovely event going on but they still made room for walk ins. Order through an app. The brisket burger was underwhelming. But I'd still come back and give it another chance. Also, it is close to public transit and has oodles of parking.
An excellent menu that had delicious food and plenty of options. The lamb duo was exceptional. The cheese board for dessert was perfect. A charming pub outside of Lichfield.
