We received a friendly welcome from the staff. The pub was well presented both inside and out. Would have awarded five stars instead of four, had all four meals arrived at same time. There was a delay with the two pizzas we ordered. The pizzas were however delicious.
Exceptional service and a very friendly yet professional front-of-house. The menu was comprehensive with a decent selection of seasonal and unique dishes. A separate gluten free menu was very helpful. The food was fresh and well prepared. Excellent. Five stars. We’ll be back.
Addy was absolutely fantastic when serving us. We had a few diet requirements and quirky changes but she was very happy to accommodate us for these. The starter we ordered was the soup which came with bread. The bread itself was nice but another piece or two would have been nice. The soup was generally quite okay, lacked a tiny bit of flavour but was edible. Overall a very nice atmosphere with friendly staff. The lunchtime offer is extremely good value.
This place is a great find and only 11 minutes away from Gatwick airport. From the moment we walked through the door, the staff were so friendly checking us in, showing us to our room and making sure we had a nice secluded table in the pub. We stayed in the Parlour room with our own access door outside. The whole decor is lovely, having a rustic country pub feel to the place. But the food was the absolute showstopper for us. Everything made fresh and cooked to order. The flavours were devine. I had the pate with apricot and carrot chutney followed by the pan fried chicken on a bed of greens (the saffron alioli and the tomato tapenade really brought this dish to life). The hubby had chicken thighs for starters followed by the 12oz Argentinian ribeye cooked to perfection. All the staff are so attentive, but a special shout out to Gareth and Addy who really made our stay so very welcoming. We would recommend this place for the food and the overnight stay and will hopefully be back again soon
Warm greeting and seated promptly. Had to wait 15 minutes for the waitress to serve us while she chatted to the family on the neighbouring table, luckily other staff served us drinks. Had to go to the bar for additional drinks - just completely ignored. Food was nice - had the pork chop, great size and well cooked. Potatoes were just warm not hot. Wife had the chicken - had to leave the last bit as not quite cooked through - but very tasty.
