The Hart was first built as a “Gentleman’s hotel” in 1875, and was formally known as The Hartington Hotel. So named after Spencer Cavendish, the 8th Duke of Devonshire and Marquess of Hartington, whose nickname was “Harty Tarty” due to his somewhat unconventional private life.
Nice roast, and very good entertainment... well done Fonda Cox 🤣
We had a warm welcome after our 10 mile Outdoorlads walk.
I love this pub! It's clean, well-appointed and has great food and drinks. The staff are friendly and the pub is inviting to people from all walks of life 🏳️🌈. They host fun entertainment 🎤, drag 💅 and monthly game events, and there's always a friendly face in the crowd 🥳. The Hart is awesome 😍
Went to karaoke with 12 friends nice atmosphere only got to sing one song in 3 hours when some people got up and sung 3 or more was disappointed but pub well worth the visit going to go back especially to try one of their pies 😊😊
I spent my evening in The Hart and had a pleasant experience. I had my evening meal of spaghetti bolognaise and it was home cooked and the portion was generous. The music and videos were good. I had a conversation with the owner Andrew and he was so nice to me. The food and drinks were reasonable priced. When I decided to go back to my hotel Andrew offered me a lift. I have read one negative review and that person had such an attitude and it’s no wonder he sat in a corner alone.
