After a 1-hr walk, we were looking forward to a quick pint here. Unfortunately, as soon as we walked through the door... "have you booked?" The lady monitoring people coming in exclaimed. We explained, that we didn't book, and just wanted a quick drink before we headed back on our return leg of the walk."Sorry, can only have a drink inside if you booked". We could see that there was spare tables (all booked apparently), but just left as couldn't be bothered to argue. It was fairly busy, and this was in the winter. God knows what it's like in the summer. If you want to go here, basically book in advance (never done that for a pub before just for a drink). Think they just want people eating rather than just having a quick pint, to get maximum amount of money they can get.

One of my favourite pubs. The staff are lovely and give you a lovely conversation even when they're busy. Set in the perfect location on a warm and sunny day or even after a wet winter walk. We visited mid week early doors for breakfast and a coffee and had a real magical feel. I love this place. 5 stars!

The food was amazing! I went with my brother and his family (2 children). The employees couldn't have been more attentive and quickly saw that my nephews had special needs. The prices were good and for all five people (3 adults, 2 children) for a main each (2 had steaks) and dessert, plus soft drinks, was less than £100. I need to go back and eat there again 😊

We visited twice within a week April 2022 with family group to celebrate my grandma's birthday and were made to feel very welcome. Service was warm and friendly, especially to our special birthday lady. Thankyou 😍 great location.

A holiday to Warsash meant a meal here, which was really lovely. The Rising Sun is dog friendly, and all the staff were friendly and attentive. Kelly and the team made sure both ourselves, the dogs, and all customers were looked after. This place was worth the visit, and we are already planning another visit next year. Warsash has great WWII history and its place on the river Hamble and its pretty harbour of boats and yachts is so worth seeing.
