I was very disappointed last week to go there for a meal with my daughter and grandsons, they had a special offer on that week but when we wanted a carvery all the meat had run out and the veg was not nice at all it was nearly 7 pm and i think it had been there all day. Ok we only paid half price but it makes me not want to go back yet that was one of my favourite local restaurants. The boys had pizzas which were burnt but they ate them i would not have eaten much of them. I had a pudding apple pie was ok but custard was awful.
We had Sunday carvery today at the Beech Arms and it was fine for the price (2 adults and 2 kids fed for £40). The restaurant is so hot that it made us feel uncomfortable, and the waiting staff seemed less than bothered about customer service and rely on "use the QR code" to order. The chef who carved the meat seemed nice and food OK, if a little fatty. If you're in a hurry with hungry kids this is fine. Lots of families swearing loudly at their tables. Don't come here on a date.
The staff were really friendly and attentive. We all had starters which came out quickly and all tasted great, the carvery looked really good when we got up to the deck, I was given a nice amount of meat and was able to help myself to the rest. There were definitely no complaints about the puddings we had. All in all the best way we could have spent Christmas
Visited Stonehouse yesterday to try out this years 3 course festive menu as we always do and it did not disappoint! We go to The Beach Arms a few times a month, it’s always great. I particularly love the breakfasts normally, it’s a help yourself all-you-can-eat and is divine! We often pop in for a carvery in the evenings too. Yesterday, at the 3 course festive menu I had the tomato soup, followed by a roast and then chocolate cake with custard. It was all delicious. We’re a family of 5 eating out and even in the busiest times of the day, the wait is never very long. Yesterday the service was perfect as usual, we were served by Michelle and Irena who were both super friendly and efficient. Very welcoming as soon as we entered and helpful throughout our visit. They both seem like very hard working ladies and all the customers were happy. The meal was fantastic value and the restaurant nice and warm. We’re already planning to come back and try different meals from the festive menu - I’d really recommend trying it - pace yourself though because the desserts are huge!

During our recent renovation work, we discovered a 130ft well that used to provide water when the pub was a private residence. All that effort for water…we’d much prefer a pint!
