This is a perfectly pleasant pub, and for me t is a little hard to review. Nothing was wrong, but nothing was special either. I'd give it 3.5 if the system allowed. My food was OK but nothing special either. I had a pulled pork bun, the bun was so soft I couldn't pick it up, it had a sort of raw coleslaw which seemed to fall everywhere so I couldn't taste the textures and flavours together which defeated the purpose of it
Went to the Rising Sun to celebrate my daughters birthday. I emailed in advance to tell them. I ordered a simply steak but they gave me a sirloin which was much more expensive. It was sort full of gristle, too too tough to cut and very disappointing. My daughter orders the salmon pasta. The salmon was like mush and had no firm chunks and was flavourless. My husband had the burger which was fine. No fuss was made about my daughters birthday - not even a ‘happy birthday!’. I was then presented with the wrong bill to pay. When I discovered they had charged me for a sirloin not the simple steak I raised it with the waitress who just replied, shrugging her shoulders ‘what do you want me to do?’ I’ve eaten here before and it was great, will I eat there again now - no.
Just brilliant! We hadn’t booked and they managed to squeeze us in (on a Sunday lunchtime) but had to put a time limit on the table which worried me initially but with brilliant service the food was turned quickly, efficiently and we cleared the table in time. And the food was incredible! We aren’t local but will definitely be making the drive back (over and hour) here again ….. it really was that good!
Great service. Sadly for £20 ive been completely ripped off for fish and chips. . Portions more like a childs portion.. very dissapointed.. pub grub should be filling .. Now ive tucked in fish is overcooked.. sad times and it took then 55 min deliver .. :( The more i eat the more dissapointed im getting. Mega bland...
Lovely pub serving good food. A good few vegan options too! Went on a Saturday night and it was very busy so the food took quite a while to arrive, but we were happy soaking in the lovely atmosphere.
