Under new management since 2014, The Alexandra is a traditional English pub offering a warm & relaxed environment, great homemade food & en-suite accommodation.
The Alexandra is the newest pub in Farnborough to cook fresh honest pub food as well as introducing Italian classics to the locals. Its décor resembles a modern small Downton Abbey with Edwardian wallpaper and picture frames.
Stefano, the Head Chef, comes with years of experience in one of the most established groups of Italian restaurants in Central London. The front of house team is led by Nadia, born in Italy, she has lived here in the UK for the past 16 years and has extensive experience in pubs, hotels and restaurants in Central London.
Some of our speciality beers are Amstel, Anchor Steam, Peroni, Doombar and Old Speckled Hen. We also have a selection of lovely Italian wines like Primitivo, Chianti and Pinot Grigio.
The Alex entertains its guests with a pool table, juke box, live music and quiz nights.
Two double rooms and a twin room are available from £50.00 per room per night, including VAT. Breakfast is available on request for an additional charge of £5.00 per person.

Had high hopes for the food here after seeing the outside and walking through the door. Super friendly staff and locals! Then time for food I had the fish n chips more batter then fish and I could count the chip's 🤣🤣 mushy peas not good to watery 🫛😝 others had loaded chips same thing could count the chip's 🖐🤣🤣 and the Chilli peppers 🥵🥵🥵 still had the seeds in them 😵😵💫 apart from the food this day great local pub for and beer and a laugh took away a great memory 🐕
I decided to pop in and try the new lunch offer. £6 for lunch, can't Beat it. Thanks to Donna behind the bar for talking me through the menu and the fantastic recommendation. The empty plate says it all. The food came quickly, just what you want if you are restricted on time.
I visited this pub on 11th May 2023. A lively local pub with BT sport on the tv, there is a dart board and plenty of outside seating at the rear of the pub. There is parking but limited. The pub has just reopened, so the garden is a work in progress. The venue does food and is very, very good. I tried the pork tomahawk steak, and this has to be tried . If you are in the area, put this on your list. Will I go again, yes.
Popped in for a Sunday roast with no booking. Warm friendly service greeted us both. The quality of the meat was really good. My beef was juicy and succulent and so too was my partner's belly of pork. There was no cracking, as promised in the menu, but it was so good that she did not complain. I found out later, after winning a crown in the meat raffle, that they use Woods Butchers( a highly reputable local butcher). The cauliflower cheese was very good. Very cheesy. However, despite the great presentation of the veg, it did let the meal down. Parsnips were a bit hard and the green beans were a bit rough. Roast potatoes were ok. Without the friendly service and quality of the meat, it would have been a 4 star. I'd like to try it again and hopefully they will up their game with the veg.
