About us

Never before have four rival breweries combined forces to run a single pub. What brings us together is the belief that there is a place for a drinks only pub in this turbulent market. Although pubs are closing at an alarming rate we hope to buck this trend by offering something different, rekindling the best practices of old with the professionalism expected by today's customers.

We also offer a fantastic wine list, designed in conjunction with Vinomondo (High St. Conwy), an ever growing spirit list, a nibbles list and a games list.

As important as telling you what we do have is telling you what we don't have. We don't have a juke box or TV; we'd rather just fill the pub with the sound of conversation.

So please...

Get yourself a nice drink, grab some nibbles, pull up a seat, take in the atmosphere, read a paper, have a chat or play a game, but most important of all, enjoy yourself and feel at home.

The breweries

(in no particular order)

BRAGDY MWS PWS-

PURPLE MOOSE BREWERY

Purple Moose brewery opened in 2005 in the harbour town of Porthmadog. They produce a standard range of four beers, complemented by seasonal special brews, and two speciality beers. Purple Moose beers have won numerous national and international awards including CAMRA Champion Beer of Wales and 'Best Welsh Speciality' at the Great Taste Awards.

The beers aren't purple, and they don't contain moose, but you'll find something a little bit special in each one you try.

BRAGDY'R GOGARTH-

GREAT ORME BREWERY

Established in the shed on the family farm on a hillside facing the landmark from which it takes its name, the Great Orme Brewery has become one of the established microbreweries in North Wales. It now produces a range of cask and bottled ales and North Wales' only bottled premium lager.

Since its establishment in 2005 the brewery has won a number of awards including best Golden Ale in Wales and Best Mild in Wales, with the ethos of putting quality before quantity.

Oh, and it's moved into a bigger shed.

BRAGDY'R NANT BREWERY

Bragdy Nant Brewery was founded in October 2007 by a partnership of ale lovers with a passion for producing good beers and playing good rugby. They had great fun learning what makes a truly great ale. They take an enormous pride in creating the products and hope that you'll find something in the range that you like. The range has been expanded to accommodate the varied and interesting tastes that characterise true lovers of real ales. Throughout the range, the emphasis is on quality and consistency.

Brilliant selection of ales, ciders, spirits and snacks. Warm and cosy pub with a rustic (but classic) interior. Nice beer garden too. In a very convenient location, close to the train station. Would highly recommend.

Great pub. They were so welcoming. Made us feel like we had been many times before. Made a fuss of our dogs and gave them treats. Good range of ales. Wonderful open fire. Would definitely recommend

We visited as it's in the National Inventory of Historic Pubs. Wow, this is the sort of pub that you'd love to be your "local". We tried several different beers, including the two Purple Moose, and all were in superb condition. Can't wait to visit again!

08/09/23: spacious old boozer with lots of books and crannies. Small outdoor beer garden. Dog friendly.

A little slice of heaven for any beer drinker or CAMRA member, a pub that is a proper pub where the beer is the star of the show, the main event and nothing to detract from that. Worth trying a pallet of beers if you are just visiting 3 third of a pint to sample. Staff are friendly and helpful. A welcome change from you publico chain pubs, so support it and pop in for a half or a pint, there's something for everyone.
