We are thrilled to be part of the success story for The Guinea, a wonderful village pub located in rural Bedfordshire between Bedford and Sandy. We have built on a strong local trade and brought in a high quality food offering. We are not a gastro pub, just honest food cooked with love.
We’re going to use our experience to continue creating a lively local pub for the village that is also popular with diners who are supporting us from local and afar. Our strong beleif in quality real ales is also proving a massive hit as we have extended our hand pumps to 6. We know that customers expect and deserve high standards so refurbishments have been made throughout the pub and the kitchen. Including improvements to the seating in the restaurant bar, new carpeting, a complete makeover of the kitchen and the return of draft beer pumps to the refurbished Guinea bar.
From our discussions with locals we have a clear vision of the future for the Guinea and will continue to support local teams, events and activities. Whilst maintaining our eye on great food and service. Were enjoying becoming a part of village life and look forward to giving a warm welcome to customers old and new so please do call in and say hello.

My Sunday roast beef dinner was fine; my wife's roast chicken meal was acceptable, if not stunning. However, the cask beer was not good; whoever manages the bar was seemingly happy to offer beer that was clearly tired or worse. Can't see the point in having four beers on offer if the throughput is not there to ensure that the barrels are emptied whilst the beer is still in good condition?
Such a pretty venue. The manager was slightly distracted on this occasion, but friendly nevertheless. Christmas decorations added to the already pretty table settings and dressers with china tea sets, etc. Gluten free Fish and chips highly recommended. My husband even tried it and agreed, although he really enjoyed his 'normal' version.
Had our Christmas work party at the guinea(40 people) and I cannot compliment them enough. Service was outstanding as was the food. The pub itself is warm and welcoming and the food was delicious. Thank you so much for having us. Cannot recommend them enough. ❤️
Nice pint and roast beef Sunday lunch in the sunshine for a lone diner (with no booking). Quick and attentive service. Lovely.
What a lovely pub! The nicest pub menu I’ve seen, delicious food and selections. We had the salmon special, my cousin had the steak and pear salad special and his wife had the steak and cheddar pie. Cosy atmosphere. Such fantastic people, highly recommend and will definitely want to stop here again! Cheers!
