Picturesque hotel perfectly located for exploring the best beaches in Pembrokeshire.
Where the countryside meets the coast. It’s the perfect location for exploring the famous cathedral city of St. David’s and the fabulous Pembrokeshire coast.
Originally a 19th century coaching inn, The Grove is now a unique, stylish, friendly inn, bar and restaurant with a large, stunning walled garden, contemporary rooms and a chic bar situated in the heart of St David’s, the smallest city in the UK.
Offering a great range of beers and delicious fine wines, our range of drinks are perfect to enjoy in our intimate restaurant or contemporary bar alongside a mouth–watering meal from our pub dining menu.
There is plenty to see and do when you are visiting The Grove. Some of our favourites include; relaxing at one of the 10 great local Blue Flag beaches including Whitesands Bay, enjoying a spot of dolphin and whale watching around Ramsey Island, visiting the famous St David’s cathedral, walking along the stunning Pembrokeshire coastline and spending the afternoon rock climbing.

A warm friendly welcome from bar staff. A great selection on the menu. We enjoyed a delicious meal. Would definitely go back the next time we’re in St David’s and recommend the hotel to others.
Really lovely hotel, very clean and our room was larger than expected. Super friendly and helpful staff who made us feel really welcome. Great location, excellent breakfast; I'd absolutely stay again
We do not recommend this hotel. The first room stunk of wet rot, the second room, (newly decorated) had mould on the bathroom window, which had been there for weeks if not months.
We originally booked for 6pm but called in to rearrange for 5pm. No problem. We arrived just before 5. One other couple in front of us. Drinks served with a smile. Food ordered and came quite quickly. Delicious. Steak and cod both cooked very well. We would have had dessert but we were too full. Restaurant was quiet but that’s to be expected around that time. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and the peace.
A lot of hospitality venues are struggling these day, and the Grove would appear to be one of them. I can look past the chipped paintwork and badly fitting doors, but never once did I feel like my custom was valued. The staff seemed disinterested and disengaged. The food was nothing short of abysmal. My Steak and Ale Pie had been utterly incinerated and was rock hard. Consequently, I didn’t even consider going for breakfast, even though I had paid in advance for it. The sign outside said that they are looking to hire kitchen staff, chefs and waiting staff. I can concur that they are desperately needed. A thoroughly disappointing experience.
