You can be assured of a true Yorkshire welcome at the Grouse along with the very best in honest, good quality, home-cooked cuisine; traditional hand-pulled ales and a variety of continental lagers...as well as our extensive wine cellar.
We have a patio, beer garden and grassed area to enjoy in the summer and real open fires in winter to add to the warmth of welcome you will receive here at the Grouse Inn. We also have a cosy snug area (dogs welcome in here) as well as a private function room and of course our lounge and bar dining areas.
The Grouse Inn is owned and operated by business partners Mark Narey and Karl Rowlett. Both have over twenty years of experience in the Public House and Restaurant trade. They have established around themselves an experienced and fully qualified team of chefs and front-of-house staff, who deliver the high standard of food and service for which they have been renowned for over two decades.
The Grouse has extensive off-road parking and internally continues to maintain a high standard of furnishings - both front of house and in our kitchen.
Our menus include many traditional old favourites, including tipsy chicken, Karl’s famous steak pie, sticky toffee pudding and our homemade jam roly-poly and custard as well as many tantalising British and Continental dishes. We also have a daily-changing 'specials board' which allows our experienced chefs to be creative.

We visited yesterday as part of our works Christmas celebrations and sampled the Festive Menu. The food was absolutely fabulous - really generous portions and delicious! The staff were lovely and attentive and the atmosphere suitably festive! Highly recommended.
Really kind helpful staff, turned up not expecting the Sunday menu to be different and they made an adult sized version of a child's option for a party member. Food was excellent.
An incredible meal with a view. We managed to secure a window view across the valley, awesome. A great choice for meat eaters and vegetarians, I cannot comment on Vegan. I personally had stew and dumplings - spot on. We will definitely return.
We have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere the professionalism the service the staff the food are all top notch and everyone should go and experience it. We loved it so much, we had our wedding reception there and we got so many compliments from our guests saying it was just perfect. Agi and Julie and all other staff treat you like family **** plus some.
A beautiful pub in beautiful surroundings. This place is a little gem and serves good home cooked food. The burger was really nice. The beef patty was juicy with plenty of flavour. Service was good and the staff were friendly and attentive. I love the views from the table. The small play area was great for our little boy to burn off energy before eating

Popular village local befitting its name which also attracts those walking the Pennine Way or visiting the ruined farmhouse claimed to be 'Wuthering Heights'.

Hello and welcome to The Old Silent Inn. We have recently taken over the Old Silent and gone through a major refurbishment, mostly behind the scenes which people would not be likely to see.
