About us

Built in the area of Greyhound Farm in the mid 19th century. It is a compact red brick building and from the front looks like it may have been two houses knocked into one. However to it is extended to the left hand side and the rear. Small beer garden at the front and car park to the rear. A second handpump was brought in to regular use in Summer 2015.

Went to Supper Wednesday night. Bar was quite busy, so looked like most attention was geared towards the bar. First round of orders had to go for a redo because they were out of the Fish. It happens. Then they came back and informed us no Foccacia. They said we could get sour dough. Turns out they meant toast (for £7.95). Rib eyes ordered as one well done and one med rare. Both came as medium. We had already been there an hour and a half so we ate it anyway. Basically we felt like we paid restaurant prices for pub food.

Had breakfast on Xmas eve and it was amazing. The staff are so friendly and the food is amazing, the fireplace made it feel so cosy

Service and atmosphere of the venue were fantastic. We ate breakfast but unfortunately fatty streaky bacon wasn’t cooked well enough to enjoy. Tomato was uncooked just warm. Also wasn’t a sausage to my taste. I have eaten lunch and dinner here before and the food was delicious.

Gorgeous impromptu breakfast date with the girls. Food was awesome and the weather was on our side. The setting was divine. The service was on point. Portions delish. Mimosas yum. You may pay a little more but was worth the splurge. NO GO AND ENJOY!!

I had a beautiful date at Coal & Cotton yesterday which was a Saturday afternoon. I had the goats cheese and red onion stonebaked pizza with a balsamic glaze and the dough was absolutely delicious! The hand cut chips were absolutely spot-on too - crispy on the outside and lovely and soft on the inside. For dessert I had the Bailey's chocolate cake and this also did not disappoint. My sister had the king prawn linguine which she loved and the hazelnut brownie which I also got to sample which was delicious. A lot of the time when you go out for a meal the brownies are really bland (I am a baker ha) but this brownie was perfect with good chunks of hazelnut inside. My brother also had a pizza but I can't remember which one and he had the school cake for dessert which he enjoyed (although, as a baker, the cake looked a bit dry to me 🙈). Would not at all hesitate to go again and I am already trying to get something in the diary to go again next month! My only gripe is the car park could definitely do with more spaces.
