Welcome to the The Greyhound Inn; a traditional country pub full of character. Nestled in the village of Staple Fitzpaine, Taunton, The Greyhound Inn exudes rural charm. This early 19th century pub, which in 2019 had a major renovation, has a series of rambling, interconnecting rooms providing a rustic mix of flagstones, old timbers and natural stone floors and walls.
With its delicious pub food classics and comforting dishes, the Greyhound provides welcome refreshment and accommodation on the doorstep of the Black Down Hills. At this charming Inn you are always guaranteed a warm hospitable welcome, a great offering of drinks, and quality traditional pub food.
Had lunch here today. Superb!!!! Liver and bacon to die for. Bangers and mash smashing. Service was excellent, staff brilliant. Five star experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Stayed here recently with a friend for a birthday treat, food & service were fabulous, great choice on the menu, delicious food, very good quality. The sticky toffee pudding was insane! Breakfast was also really delicious with plenty of choice. Service was very attentive, lovely bustly atmosphere. Only negative was a foul smelly drain in the bathroom, in fairness we did get moved having asked but my friend had to sleep on a rollaway bed which was uncomfortable as the alernative room was not a twin, love my friend but we didn’t fancy sharing a bed! Would return but not to stay.
Lovely food and atmosphere. Arrived and had to wait 1/2 hour but served us drinks whilst waiting. Menu was OK! Had batteted fish and chips with tartar sauce and peas. Husband had 3 pork sausages on pile of mash served with bacon jam hravy and seasonal vegetables. Dogs are allowed in restaurant area.
Visited three times in recent weeks Impossible to fault. Warm atnesphere friendly staff, good menu, car parking and outside space. Bar and dining areas both have discreet seating areas for that quiet drink or meal. Toilets clean
Just had a great lunch. The food menu was very extensive and the pub is open every day all day. The indoors areas are very varies with lots of private areas to have a quiet meal and drink. The outside area has plenty of seats and sunny. The staff were very helpful and informative. Will be back soon.
