Great fun for 8 years and under, very safe in a controlled area, meaning little ones can have a great time with peace of mind they are safe.. Staff are fantastic, kind, friendly, look after your every need. Love it here.
Invited by the father on law for a meal. Place looks a little run down, but the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was excellent for all 3 courses. Would happily go back again.
We went on a Saturday so the big plate specials were discounted. I got sizzling tikka chicken. It had a few wraps, a bit of lettuce and little pots of sauce. It wasn't very filling and there wasn't much meat. It needed fries with it. My daughter got the normal sizzler meal where you choose what meat you have, what sauce it's cooked in and you pick two sides. She had far more food than I did. Three pieces of gammon on peppers and onions and fries and onion rings. My son had the quadzilla burger and said it was lovely. The staff are always happy and helpful. They have a few lovely booths with tvs to sit in which are great.
Weird name aside (it's nowhere near Gretna Green), the pub is great. Standard Premier Inn / Whitbread(?) fayre, so big menu, both physically and in terms of choice with large portions of OK food. Prices reasonable for the amount. Drinks varied and not ridiculously priced either. Breakfast very good and cheap for the amount. Were a bit late opening but less than five mins so not a biggie. Happy to recommend.
We had dinner and then breakfast at the Gretna Green... Dinner was reasonable although a few things not available on the menu. Plenty of variety of options on the menu, as you would expect from a Hungry Horse pub. Kids enjoyed their kids meals and we all had some ice cream afterwards. The adult meals were OK, the wife had a Tikka stack, the Tikka sauce wasn't the best... I had the Korean Chicken Burger which was alright. The chips came with a Chinese seasoning which was nice. Ice cream was good, although the large chocolate mania never had any of the brownie bites or the chocolate caramel finger in it - just loads of smarties. Breakfast wasn't the greatest - they really need to provide toast for the table or get a decent toaster as it was rubbish. Cooked breakfast you order from the waitress and they cook for you. Kids weren't keen on the sausages, and the scrambled egg wasn't all that... The pub is very child friendly, so if your looking for somewhere to eat without feeling like you are upsetting other dinners then this is a great option.
