Situated a stone's throw from Hucknall town centre, The Green Dragon is certainly a landmark pub and if it ever needed to re‐establish itself in the community, then it certainly has done now.
The Watnall Road pub reopened its doors after three‐and‐a‐half weeks on Thursday 29th March following a £150,000 investment by The Pub People Company, who own and operate pubs and restaurants all across Nottinghamshire, as well as Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.
Benefiting from a considerable external refurbishment, the pub has also under-gone a huge transformation inside, turning the dark and dated drinking pub into a now family‐friendly drinking experience.
The pub has been brightened up and given a fresh look with new wall coverings, carpets, furniture, toilets and even a new bar. The locals have welcomed the experience and the special offers has them experimenting and trying things they never would have before.
A house wine offer is sure to keep the ladies happy and the addition to an extra cask ale line will keep the gents happy too with the pub now offering five cask ales including two local beers from Castle Rock and Blue Monkey.

Came here with my family for the first time in years Had a very warm welcome Food was amazing Everywhere was lovely and clean I was also aloud to bring my cockerpoo in Great would recommend definitely And we will be back ….. soon Thanks Lindsey xxx
Went for the first time today, I had the jacket potato with chilli, it was huge and clearly home made, the salad was fresh and had plenty of dressing, my dad's vegan and he had the jacket potato with vegan chilli and his was lovely too, something for everyone on the menu and reasonably priced. The staff are lovely and it's immaculately clean. Will be using again, Hucknall needs a place like this I hope they don't close and do well. I came with the 2 children too, family and dog friendly. I will be back x
At last! New owners have brought a touch of decorum back to my favourite local. Beer spot on and food looks lovely. They are really making an effort. Make sure to register your car on entry, it's got one of those sneaky cameras monitoring the car park. Cracking pub all round again now.
Great pub for food and a few drink would highly recommend, give it a try you won’t be disappointed big turn around now under new management
New landlords Andy and Christine doing a fine job. Ploughman's lunch is a hearty meal, just managed to save room for apple crumble and custard!
