Booked for a Sunday birthday lunch at 1pm. Booked food on the app but after they got the order they came to tell us that they didn’t have any of the Sunday lunch vegetarian option left. After a while they then came to tell us they didn’t have buns for the vegan burger so it was served with a bit of cheese and lettuce. We did say they could serve it without a bun because the vegan choice is pretty limited but there was no effort to fill the plate up a bit ( the picture refers). They also forgot the onion rings that should have come with the burger and we sent back a rock hard Yorkshire pudding. BTW, the burger was £12.45. Yes, we could have made more complaints but you get to a point where you don’t want to spoil a social occasion any more. The food we had was barely average and poor value for money. We saw food being taken back at the bar because it was luke warm and another table being told they had run out of sausages for the mixed grill. The place is grubby and cold so pretty uninviting. There is no parking so that is a nightmare, not the pubs fault necessarily but one to be aware of. The servers were very nice so no issue there but I would suggest that manager wanders across the road to the Didsbury to see how it should be done. All in all, save your money and don’t go.

We booked for Christmas Dinner with our daughter son in law and granddaughters 2023. Cannot fault at all. Food and service excellent. Best turkey I've ever had. Staff and service excellent. Thank you Kelly and staff. We had a great experience. Highly recommend.

I recently had my teams festive meal here, and can't recommend it highly enough. The food was very tasty, piping hot , and served in a timely manner. There is a good choice of drinks, alcoholic and non alcoholic. The staff are friendly , and always greet you with a smile. Thank you very much Caroline, Kelly, and all the team, for making organising a meal for 12 people, very successful and surprisingly stress free. Neil

Visited yesterday for the festive menu with a friend. The meal was delicious and a very reasonable price of £19.99 for 3 courses. We both had prawn cocktail, the Xmas dinner, then cheesecake for one of us and Xmas pudding for the other. Could not fault any of it, in fact we both thought it was the best turkey we have ever had! Very attentive staff and went out of their way to make sure we were alright and nothing was too much trouble for them. Special thanks to the General Manager, I think she was called Caroline and also to the lady serving drinks, Kellie. This was our second visit as we had previously been in and had a 3 course meal (again excellent food) for seniors and that was only £7.99! We are already planning our next visit! Thank you for an enjoyable afternoon.

A pub that has undergone many changes in nature, character and management. I have visited and been there thousands of times over the past 65 years! On my recent visit I notice it is in the hands of greeneking which brings rather a standardised approach to the beer and food but the quality is quite good. I ordered a mixed grill which came with a pineapple and fried egg - I really don't understand why pineapple is added to a meat dish. Unfortunately the egg was broken and before I had chance to grumble the waiter brought another one on a small side plate saying he thought it would be better as the egg served was of such poor quality - full marks for consideration. The meals were served fairly quickly but given the place was nearly empty that really should be the case (a 24 minute wait between order and service). The biggest down side is that they only have English mustard - can't pubs serving meat from the grill offer something a little more imaginative than tomato or brown sauce or yellow English mustard? The place overall was clean, neat and quiet. The outside garden/yard is well laid out and on a sunny day is a lovely relaxing place th eat. I recommend a visit and a sample of the menu - bon appetit! A drawback in that location is that parking is a major issue as they have no carpark so there is a need to park on the street and walk back to the pub.
