The Great Stone is in a quiet residential area of Northfield. As it has been here for hundreds of years, it is a traditional pub with a fantastic beer garden. We are able to offer something for everyone and have a good reputation and offer a safe and secure environment, aiming hard to give our customers a reason to visit time and again.
We offer a great range of drinks, cask ales, meals and entertainment. The Stone, at the heart of the local community, really is a place to visit. In 2010, we won an award for ‘best managed house’ and 2011 ‘best community pub in the East and West Midlands’, in the Great British Pub awards.
This is our local and I can honestly say it has the vibe of a chilled out, rural village pub. Never had a bad pint, and the food is always freshly cooked and of a reasonable quality/quantity. Mercifully, the place is normally free of screaming kids and entitled parents, which is refreshing in this day and age.
Usually a lovely place to go however the last few times the staff seem to have lost all basic mannerisms and we was spoken to awful as we ordered table service, Beth just looked at us and said im far to busy for this then walked of and said I won’t be doing it again, no apologies or even a normal conversation letting us know that ordering in the app wasn’t available even though it was plastered everywhere you could use the app, it was very rude and we ended up leaving as it ruined the mood! Not a great experience this time!
Ordered a burger and a chicken sub for my partner and I, with drinks. Prices were reasonable. Food was delicious and fresh. Good choice of guest ales. Quiet traditional feeling pub. Also has a jukebox. Would recommend to everyone. Thank you, my partner had a great birthday.
Little Gem off the main road. Popped in for a drink and food while we were out. It was very busy but the staff were very efficient. 1/2 Wait for food, which I thought was very good considering how busy it was, and there was a full function going on. Great little room outside for functions, which is good to know. And lovely beer garden. My wife and I are going back on 2nd December, and we have reserved a table with friends to watch entertainment that we found out is regularly available.
My favourite pub in the world 😄 always friendly, excellent staff, great prices, beautiful beer garden- you don’t feel like you are in Northfield. Deffo worth a visit!

This was built in 1929, opening on 1 December. Designed for the Davenport Brewery, by Francis Goldsbrough (from the local architectural practice of Bateman and Bateman), this is one of the largest and finest examples of a Brewer’s Tudor-style public house
