2016 & August 2023: Cute dogs. Very quiet when I visited and we were the only ones on our side of the bar. The pub is almost divided in half. We had cider, wine and baby Guinness. There is a nice outdoor area with sheltered seating. It’s got steps outside to get into the pub so if you’re unable to get out of your wheelchair accessibility isn’t great. Inside is, and they have accessible toilets which is so rare these days!
Very good McMullen's Brewery pub a few yards from Hertford East Railway Station. Three cask beers on handpump when I visited including a mild. Lots of outdoor seating some of it covered in the lovely garden to the rear.
Friendly and genuine pub with plenty of regulars, just refurbished outside so looks smart and very handy for Hertford East station. They even serve Taytos crisps which are my favourite ! Football on the tv.
Lovely friendly well laid out pub. Lots of quirky features including Led Zeppelins stairway to heaven lyrics in the mens toilets. Good beer and a garden that has everything including a TV area. Well worth a visit.
It’s great that there are still a few pubs left like this, proper drinkers pubs for locals where everyone knows everyone. As an outsider I was made welcome and felt at home.

You will always find an enjoyable and entertaining pub atmosphere at the Lord Haig with friendly and talkative locals, top notch live entertainment at weekends and very reasonably priced drinks.
