The worst pub food ever! Went with the family. I had a basic burger and fries. The fries were cooked in the same oil they cooked fish or really old oik and were stinking. It made ne nauseous could have gotten a better burger at McDonald's. Had to return my food as it was not edible. My wife's steak was so bland she had to put lots of salt and pepper. Avoid food there.
Been to this pub plenty of times and the food never disappoints! The staff are always kind and the wait for food and drinks is never long either. Would definitely recommend this pub.
18 of us for lunch today at The Grapes. We had pre-ordered our food and were very happy with great service (professional and slick), really tasty food with good sized portions ..and very good value! Thank You to all at The Grapes! Very happy customers! 👍👏
Went for lunch for the first time last Thursday. They had a great deal on as just started doing Thursday and Friday lunch from 12pm. Was really impressed! We spoke to Gary who is the landlord/owner, who is really passionate about the pub/business. Really enjoyed chatting with him. Staff are really friendly (think it is all family run) and overall this is a great place for food and for drink. Nice outside beer garden too. It's not a dog friendly pub inside which I actually prefer (nothing against dogs I just don't want them there while I'm eating) We enjoyed it so much we went back for Sunday lunch which was excellent too! Would recommend and will be going back on a regular basis.
Decent food and drink in pleasant surroundings. My meal choice was quite simple - veggie burger & fries (£10.95) and a mousse for dessert - so I don't think it was anything that taxed the chef. Might try something from their Thai menu if I go again.
