About us

The Gosling Bridge Inn is rich in Roman history as Hadrian’s Wall runs close by. The pub was built on a river bed where the farmers used to cross the bridge taking the goslings to market hence the name Gosling Bridge.

It was busy...it took a while to place our food order due to a large order before us, however the food was great, the service was great, it just took a little while, and you can't knock the value for money. Healthier options for the children if they wanted to. A thoroughly pleasant evening was spent waiting for the electricity to be restored. We'll be back. Thanks

We came for a meal as a family to celebrate my partners birthday, food is priced well, tasty and didn't take long to arrive. We were looked after by Sarah who was so pleasant and attentive as always. The staff in the gosling really add to the experience. We always enjoy our meals here. Extra thanks to Sarah.

Good place for food but when ordering your food they took the drinks order also. Problem is the person who took the food order also got you the drinks which left the people behind you waiting longer to order . It wasn't very busy at the time but it was still an inconvenience having to stand in a queue and wait to order your meal. Imo... Take the drinks order and get another member of staff to get the drinks so you could move on to the next customer. We will eat here again to see if it was just a one off, but there seemed to be plenty of staff at the time. The price of the food was reasonable and good. Staff are very friendly.

It's a little bit dated now inside, but we are never disappointed when we visit from time to time whilst visiting relatives who live nearby. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The offers are terrific value and the food is well cooked, well presented and tasty. There are not many places you can go and have a decent feed and a couple of drinks for under £20 for two nowadays during the week and I would have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone.

Well I have to say I've eaten a lot of burgers and in England I've only had one that was really good, but this burger is a joke. First, I had a rotten lettuce leaf on it, second, the meat was just dry and totally overdone, the fries were apparently from a previous guest as crispy as they were and the highlight was the two ridiculous onion rings, that's really a joke for a price from 11.19 sorry but that's just not right. you could think the chef didn't feel like it anymore
