We’ve visited several times in the past week and each time the food and service has been exemplary. The bruschetta was the best I’ve ever tasted! My wife is still raving about the leek and potato soup, and neither of us are prone to exaggeration where food is concerned. The place itself is so cosy and inviting it’s been a real bolt hole during the never ceasing rain. Highly recommend it.
I spent Christmas Eve with my family and friends at The Golden Lion and as always once again they delivered a delicious dining experience. The service was excellent, all of our food arrived at the same time piping hot which must have been hard for such a large group on one of the busiest nights of the year . The food was mouth wateringly good - we had the catch of the day fish, ribeye steaks and chicken burgers- everything was bang on. This gastro pub is consistently good, I honestly couldn’t recommend it enough
What a great place to eat & drink. Very cosy inside, lovely staff, great menu & good choice if drinks We had lambs liver & burger both superb Big thumbs up to Tina, warm, tentative with a good sense of humour, certainly a credit to the pub !
I never leave reviews but this one deserved one. Amazing pub, fantastic food, dog friendly and the bonus of a warming, sheltered beer garden. Hats off to management, staff & the kitchen team. A true testament to the charm the area offers :)
We have visited 4 times this week and eaten each time. Each and every time the service has been superb, by every member of the team we encountered. The management should be very proud of the team they have. The food is fantastic too. The biggest fish and chips we've ever had. The food has been cooked perfectly and of excellent quality each time. We wouldn't hesitate on returning if back in the area again.
