I was a member of a large group having Xmas Lunch in January. I would recommend this establishment as a training place for staff in chain restaurants! The service was absolutely excellent. The Gluten-free options were clearly shown on the menu, with no hunting on a confusing App being necessary. When one dish wasn't available an (excellent) alternative GL one was offered.
I went here with my hubby a few years ago, it was so lovely back then. I don't know what has happened since. My workplace decided to have our Christmas lunch here. I was really looking forward to it; even drove through floods to get there. Such a disappointment. There was 12 of us crammed into a side room. The food was really poor. Luke warm Turkey dinner. I had requested gluten free along with another of my colleagues. They only catered for one g/f. They took my meal back as I explained I can't eat gluten. 3 of my colleagues had been forgotten and had to ask where their meals were. This whole vibe continued throughout the meal. I really felt that my hard earned cash had been wasted. I would not recommend to go as a party. I can't remark if you were to go in as a couple into the main bar, as that would be unfair.
Beautiful local pub that brings warm greetings as soon as you enter. Such a cozy setting inside that welcomes your furry babies also. Most importantly the food is absolutely amazing and you have a wide range of lovely selection of drinks to wash it down with. Definitely will be coming more often now we have found you guys, not too far for us in Hertford. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality 👍🏻🏴🇮🇹
A hidden gem of Hertfordshire. I could go on about how great the allergen-awareness is and how well-labelled the menu is for gluten free and dairy free, as well as the separate vegetarian and vegan menu. But that wouldn't matter a bit if the food wasn't delicious, which it absolutely is. The staff, service, and whole environment are great too. Always happy to make the journey for another visit.
Probably the most kind and polite barmen I met in the UK! The sandwiches were very tasty! If you're in the area, give it a try!
