We had a really delicious meal and there's now a refreshingly interesting menu (as well as burgers and classics). The owner is back at the helm and everything seems to have been uplifted. All very welcoming. We'll be back again soon.

Stayed in one of their B&B rooms - clean, comfy and basic amenities provided. Great to be able to just head downstairs for dinner; great value food & a few pints of local beer/cider by a roaring fire. Breakfast was also good - choice of cereal, toast and/or Full English. The highlight was the service we received: every team member we encountered was welcoming and made us feel like nothing was too much trouble. Great place to stay if passing through!

Something has gone on with the owners and leaseholders of the pub, and I suspect we haven't got the full story. Whatever the situation is/was, it wasn't great getting caught up in it, having our wedding deposit money taken and then no communication until a couple of weeks later to be told all 2024 wedding bookings were being cancelled. Will offered to try to host the wedding elsewhere but we asked for our deposit back as communication was poor in getting concrete information/written details to us about this so that we could make an informed decision about whether to proceed. In the end we got our deposit back and decided to look at alternatives given the need for many venues to book well in advance.

More than it appears. From the potholed small car park out front you could be fooled into thinking this is a run down country pub. The inside is quaint and rustic, but the outside is an almost Caribbean paradise. Outside bar with wood fired pizza, fantastic outdoor shelter and function room, including fire pit and stove. There's even camping and huts to stay in, no wonder this is a popular wedding venue. Importantly, the food was delicious and well priced, delivered in good time by exceptionally attentive and friendly staff! Some unique pub fair and good selection of veggie delights. Smoked halloumi roast was incredible!

Book your wedding with caution! We fell in love with the Holford Arms as our wedding venue, it was exactly what we were looking for. However, the service we received was poor. Little to no communication throughout the process, mixed messages from the various 'wedding planners' we dealt with (two left within a few months of each other then not replaced). Three of our guests rooms were dirty beyond belief (photos of one chalet) and although this was fixed the next day, it didn't get our wedding weekend off to a great start. The food served on the day was nothing like the food we received during our tasting, presentation was especially bad on one dish. A few things were forgotten on the day but overall we had a fabulous wedding day, surrounded by friends and family and luckily some sunshine. The staff were also great on the day. We were offered a full refund for all accommodation booked on the first day as a way of apology which we thought was very generous but after weeks of asking where this refund was, we were refunded for just three rooms (of five) and told that was enough, end of story. This could be a fabulous place but it unfortunately did not live up to expectations, I wish they took a bit more pride in the stunning venue they're running. The wedding venue should not be the most stressful part of wedding planning but it was. So to future brides and grooms, book with caution.
