Simply wonderful, excellent staff,good beer and great food. Recommended without reservation.
We visited today at 12pm for a Sunday lunch, and one of our party informed the waitress she had a nut allergy. I know that allergen control is essential to modern food hygiene standards. Unfortunately, our experience was far from the five-star food hygiene rating at the last inspection in July 2022. We were informed that all food from the fryer was unacceptable because of nuts in the oil. When we asked further questions about why the oil would be a problem - was it, for example, peanut oil or just traces from cross-contact? - the chef was extremely dismissive and refused to clarify its ingredients beyond "it is cooking oil". No allergen matrix was available. I cannot recommend this pub for anyone with an allergy, the kitchen do not want to help or make you feel safe. We left without eating anything.
Good value. Good service. Friendly staff. I would go again but being on a very busy road is a drawback. Dog friendly is a plus.
Haven't been there for years and was apprehensive about what to expect. After a nightmare with the parking I assumed that my initial doubts would be confirmed. How wrong was I! The ale was excellent, I absolutely loved my meal and the service was faultless. Thanks Guys!!
Ive just had the most amazing roast dinner! We both had roast post and its the best roast dinner ive had in a long time. We will be going again v.soon. compliments to the Chefs and attentive waiting staff!
