The Black Dog is a recently re-furbished 18th century half-timbered pub located in the heart of Newent. We are a child friendly pub and welcome all members of the public including families and dogs. We have an open lounge and separate dining room with delicious daytime and evening meals.
We like to keep our customers happy and entertained; we host evenings of live music, traditional pub games, have a large sports TV and offer all our customers free wifi. The pub features a sheltered outdoor smoking area and on-site parking.

Absolutely top bloke who run’s place mark I think his name was? Makes you feel at home and always up for a decent chat if needed👌🏻on top of that locals are a right laugh and good for a general chit chat if wanted. Service 10/10 Vibes 20/10 not complaining one bit
Only a flying visit but a roaring log fire and Butty Bach on draught is irresistible, the menu looks good and ingredients are locally sourced. I will be returning in the summer to enjoy the beer garden... Hopefully the wife will drive home.
Nice garden to sit in. Well priced. Beer was good as was wine and soda. Limited choice of real ale.
Nice place, car parking, good beer selection, sports if you want. We had the Sunday roast which was a good feed.
