About us

The Plough Inn is a hidden jewel in the center of Stretton On Fosse located in The North Cotswold's. The interior of the pub is a warm and welcoming mix of Cotswold Stone and Red Brick. The open Inglenook Fireplace, low exposed beams, and flagstone floor bring character to this charming 17th century public house. It has been referred to as being 'A Proper Traditional English Pub' a compliment that means the world to both Graham & Lisa Nice who moved from Canada in 2020 to become the Landlords of The Plough Inn.

The Plough Inn is an independent, family run Free House near Moreton-in-Marsh, Shipston-on-Stour and Chipping Campden. We offer a warm and friendly welcome to all that visit the pub.

We have taken time in sourcing locally produced products and serve a fabulous selection across our handpumps of Ales from the North Cotswold Brewery, featuring Green Man IPA and Cotswold's Best Bitter.

Although the pub itself is not large enough inside to cater for dogs, there is a covered dining Pavilion outside for those that may be passing with their furry friend, providing them with dog treats and water bowls.

Stretton On Fosse is a quiet little village just off the beaten path, and The Plough Inn is the perfect place to escape from the everyday grind of life. For those that aren't ready to go completely off the grid, we do have Free Wifi available.

We are a family friendly pub, with children's offerings on our menus.

We're sure you won't be disappointed, call to book your table today on 01608 661053.

Great little pub, food very good and catered for one of our party who has Vegan diet. Chef was friendly and his presentation was first class. Good beers and wine available. Highly recommend.

Dropped in for Sunday Roast. While busy they managed to accommodate us at a table for 2. A few menu items had run out but that was explained and understandable. Food was great but I would recommend booking in advance.

Very enjoyable Sunday roast and fish and chips (!) thank you. Booked at short notice, we enjoyed our meal in the warm and welcoming pub. A lovely open fire and of course, dog-friendly. Would definitely recommend.

The poor fella was rushed off his feet and yet still provided a lovely friendly service with a smile and very quick. The quality of the food and drink is knockout and it's probably one of the best pies I've had! (Pictured is the hunters chicken & steak and ale pie)

We were in the Cotswolds for a weekend break and had left it too late to book a table for a Saturday evening meal and everywhere we called were already booked. The Plough had good reviews and so were pleased they had a table available. When we arrived we were the only ones there but recieved a pleasant welcome. We chose to order from the Festive Menu and were very pleased with the food. The starters were both well presented, tasty and filling. But best of all was the Roast Turkey main course with all the trimmings. One of the best we've ever had. Real thick slices of tasty turkey, fantastic roast potatoes and the vegetables cooked just perfectly. Even the Yorkshire Pudding was done well. Our only one criticism is that the chef had ground coarse sea salt over the plates and vegetables. Now we like salty food so wasn't a problem for us but could see that some customers may find it to much. Desserts were good and the value for money excellent. By the time we left there were more people in drinking but we were the only diners. Would certainly go back again especially for another roast meal. Thank you.
