There is a welcoming and friendly ambiance with a good mix of locals, weekenders and couples enjoying the excellent seasonal produce on the menus and the vast array of drinks on offer.
We went to The Plough Inn on Christmas (a group of 9 people) and had an amazing experience. BIG shout out to the manager, Vincent, and Dennis who were serving us (and were exceptional); and to the Head chef, Alex and sous-chef, Janos, who were superb in the kitchen. The quality of food, the wine flights and the service were all impeccable - credit where it's due. Well Done Team! We will be back 🙌👏💛 HNY to you all 🥰
The first time I visited this place, I thought my GPS was screwing me: narrow road through the field in the middle of nowhere. But when I finally got there I fell in love with the place. A few centuries old pub with a soul. Rooms are nice and clean, beds are comfortable, and bathrooms are nice with hot showers. All you need for relaxing. Personnel is fantastic as well as guests in the pub, they instantly make you feel at home. On top of that, fantastic English breakfast in the morning. I'll definitely come again and I highly recommend this place.
The Plough is superb. Every aspect of our stay was perfect from the accommodation (incredibly comfy bed and reviving rainfall shower) to the delicious food (all our meals were truly excellent). A huge thank you to the lovely team. Hoping to return soon!
We were doing the Thames Path so this location was perfect with a short deviation from the route. Room was lovely, bathroom spacious and bed was super comfy. Staff were very friendly, we were able to leave the car and return later after our walk. Breakfast was lovely; freshly baked croissant and delicious cooked breakfast. Dinner was nice though stop serving food very early on Sundays - 4pm!!!
We stayed here a few weeks ago with our two dogs for 2 nights. The staff was super friendly, welcoming and attentive and the dogs were treated with their own bits of sausages for breakfast. The rooms and especially the bathrooms are really nice and breakfast is just fantastic (definitely go for the croissants, they're heavenly!) as is dinner. We went for a full three courses and this was by far the best dinner we've had in a really long time (possibly ever). While you're at it, try the Gin in a Tin assortment, that was really good as well. If we're ever back in the area, well definitely be back.
